"American Airlines" is going to launch high-speed Wi-Fi on regional planes
"American Airlines" plans to make high-speed Wi-Fi available on nearly 500 two-class regional jets.
"American Airlines" is working to expand its relationship with service provider Intelsat and plans to begin installing the upgraded service on regional jets in 2024. The carrier expects the project to take about two years to complete, Business Travel News reports.
Aircraft flying regional routes for "American Airlines" are operated by regional partners, some of which are owned by American (Envoy Air, Piedmont Airlines, and PSA Airlines). Air Wisconsin, SkyWest Airlines, and Republic Airways also operate American's regional routes.
"American Airlines" currently has more than 900 mainline aircraft with satellite connectivity.
