airBaltic has suspended all flights to and from Dubai until the end of October 2026 due to the current security situation in the Middle East. The Latvian airline announced that scheduled services on the route will remain cancelled during this period. Dubai had been one of the airline’s popular destinations, but the company says safety considerations require a temporary halt to operations.

Passengers who already booked travel on the Dubai route will be able to change their reservation free of charge. The airline allows rebooking to any of its more than 80 destinations. Options include well-known holiday locations such as Antalya, Corfu, Crete, Lisbon, Malta, Naples, Nice, Rhodes and Split, alongside other cities in the airline’s European network.

“While Dubai has been a very popular destination in our network, the current security situation requires careful and responsible decisions. Our priority is to provide passengers with reliable travel options so they can continue their journeys by choosing alternative attractive destinations within the airBaltic network this summer. We hope our customers will enjoy their travels with peace of mind, and as soon as the situation allows, we look forward to resuming flights to Dubai."
Mantas Vrubliauskas, Vice President Network Management of airBaltic

According to airBaltic, aircraft that were planned for Dubai services will now operate on other routes. Several additional flights have been added to destinations in Spain and Cyprus. The airline confirmed new or expanded services to Alicante, Larnaca, Barcelona, Madrid and Tenerife, increasing available seats during the upcoming travel season.

Additional routes receiving extra flights

  • Alicante – 23 April to 27 August
  • Larnaca – 2 May to 17 October
  • Barcelona – 18 April to 29 August
  • Madrid – 4 May to 31 August
  • Tenerife – 2 September to 23 October

These schedule changes increase capacity on several southern European routes. Barcelona and Madrid remain among the busiest city destinations in the network, while islands such as Crete, Malta and Tenerife continue to draw steady holiday traffic. The aircraft that had been assigned to Dubai flights will now operate on these routes during the coming months.

The suspension reflects how quickly airline networks can change when security conditions affect certain regions. Instead of keeping aircraft unused, the airline has shifted capacity to other routes across southern Europe. Passengers with cancelled Dubai flights still have the possibility to travel elsewhere in the network, while the airline keeps the route under review until conditions allow services to resume.
