Air India has ordered 470 new aircraft and plans to refresh its fleet every six days
Air India has placed an order for 470 aircraft and plans to receive new aircraft every six days over the next 18 months. This announcement was made by CEO and MD Campbell Wilson at the 67th Assembly of Presidents of the Association of Asia Pacific Airlines, as reported by The Telegraph.
"We have new aircraft, and we are recruiting many new crews and staff. Additionally, we are enhancing our training regime and undertaking various initiatives, making good progress," he said.
Addressing the assembly, Wilson highlighted that the majority of Air India's customers prioritize reliability and punctuality. Meeting these demands poses a significant challenge.
According to Subash Menon, CEO of the Association of Asia Pacific Airlines, the current air travel demand in India is 20% higher than in 2019, following the reopening of India after the pandemic.
