A restaurant near Birmingham included in the Michelin Guide only six months after opening

A new restaurant near Birmingham that serves gourmet food "without unnecessary pomposity" has impressed Michelin inspectors just six months after opening.
Cheal's opened in the pretty village of Knowle in Solihull in February and has already impressed visitors with a perfect five-star rating on Google, Birmingham Live reports.
Cheal's is co-managed by renowned chef Matt Cheal, who took the risk of closing his consistently busy restaurant in Henley-in-Arden in the new year to move to the larger space formerly known as Jacques.

A modern British eatery offers a seasonal six-course tasting menu, as well as an a la carte offering and small plate afternoon tea served in its own Warren's cocktail bar downstairs.

Chef and co-owner Matt Cheal, 41, said at the opening that "people can forget all the pomp that often goes along with fine dining," describing the atmosphere at Cheal's as "very casual."
