Campsites for Motorhome Holidays in Europe

After my previous blog post about my first caravan adventure, I thought it would be interesting to look at the top 4 campsites for motorhome holidays in Europe. Here are my top picks where I would like to visit (in no particular order!):

England – Rivendale Caravan & Leisure Park

Set in a stunning location with 37 acres of woodland in the Lake District, this campsite definitely has the wow factor. The location is perfect for motorhome owners who are looking to experience the great outdoors as there are plenty of cycle trails and walking paths to explore, as well as sailing, fishing and kayaking nearby. But there are also good amenities available with hard standing electric pitches for motorhomes and tourers on site, with an under floor heated shower and toilet block.

France – Val de Cantobre Campsite

Positioned in a beautiful location between Cévennes National Park and the Tarn Gorges, expect some stunning views. This campsite also has some good facilities (and more!) with two swimming pools and a waterslide, wild river and mushroom fountains – fun for both the children and adults! There’s a huge amount of things to do on and around the campsite from relaxing walks to adrenaline fuelled activities including kayaking, abseiling and rafting!

Spain – Playa Montroig Camping Resort

Playa Montroig Camping Resort is located close to beaches and coves in the Costa Dorada region of Spain. If you are looking for a family friendly beachfront campsite, then look no further! The plots for motorhomes are well equipped with a power supply, water supply and plenty of space. There are lagoon pools with waterslides and waterfalls in the campsite as well as mini golf, tennis, football and basketball courts. The location looks beautiful so another idea includes renting a bike and discovering the local area.

Italy – Union Lido Park & Resort

Another beachfront location, Union Lido is one of Europe’s largest camping sites. There is a main street with a choice of restaurants, cafes, shops, a games arcade and supermarket. The campsite also has pools with waterslides and games, a spa and loads of sports facilities like beach volley, tennis, archery and you can even hire a pedalo! A good campsite if you are looking for somewhere that offers these kinds of luxury facilities.

Let me know if you have visited any hidden gems in or outside of Europe – the best thing about motorhomes is that you don’t have to stay put in one place!

Remember if you are considering taking your first motorhome holiday, plan your journey in advance to ensure a stress free trip and get insured with a motorhome insurance specialist for peace of mind. But most of all have fun!
