More Direct Winter Flights Take Off From Berlin

Eurowings is expanding its winter offering at Berlin Brandenburg Airport by retaining several city routes previously focused on the summer season. The decision gives Berlin-based customers more choice for trips to southern and south-eastern Europe when seasonal networks usually become smaller. The airline is also adding a limited connection between Cologne/Bonn and Georgia, extending the winter expansion beyond its Berlin base.

Eurowings has also expanded its codeshare agreement with SunExpress, covering Antalya flights serving ten European cities. These services can now be booked with Eurowings flight codes, although SunExpress operates the aircraft. The arrangement does not create ten new routes, but places more existing Turkey services within the Eurowings booking network. Customers should check the operating carrier, baggage allowance and fare conditions shown during booking.
Keeping the Berlin routes through winter makes several popular city breaks easier outside the busiest months. Porto offers the Ribeira waterfront and Douro Valley connections, while Bilbao provides access to the Guggenheim Museum and Spain’s Basque coast. Lisbon remains an option for historic neighbourhoods and nearby Sintra. Sarajevo opens the way to Bosnia’s Ottoman-era old town, and the limited Tbilisi service suits winter visits to Georgia.
The change gives Berlin residents more direct winter choices without relying on connections at other German airports. Porto and Bilbao have the clearest pattern at twice a week, while dates for Lisbon and Sarajevo still need checking before planning accommodation. The Tbilisi route is much more limited, covering only two months. Anyone booking an Antalya codeshare should also note which airline operates the flight before choosing extras or checking baggage rules.
