Zurich Adds Namibia Route for Summer 2026
Zurich Airport’s summer 2026 timetable brings new long-haul routes, additional airlines and more frequent European flights. The schedule runs from 29 March to 24 October 2026, with 67 airlines serving 212 destinations. A key change is Edelweiss launching direct flights to Windhoek in Namibia, operating twice weekly from 1 June 2026.
Flights to North America will also increase for the summer period. American Airlines plans a seasonal daily Dallas–Zurich service starting in May 2026. Edelweiss is adding daily flights to Vancouver from 13 June, while Halifax remains in the timetable until 18 October, covering the autumn travel season in Nova Scotia.
New airlines and expanded routes
- Edelweiss: Windhoek twice weekly from 1 June
- American Airlines: daily Dallas service from May 2026

- Edelweiss: Punta Cana three times weekly in spring and summer
- Edelweiss: Malé up to five weekly flights during spring holidays
- Kuwait Airways: three weekly flights to Kuwait City
- Norwegian: Zurich–Oslo, up to four weekly flights
- China Eastern Airlines: three weekly flights to Shanghai
- SWISS: seasonal Poznań (3 weekly) and Rijeka (2 weekly, July–August)
- Edelweiss: Kefalonia added; Glasgow twice weekly
- Air Baltic: new Vilnius route
- Chair Airlines: Tuzla and Vlora added
- Condor: more frequent flights to Frankfurt
The new Windhoek connection makes Namibia easier to reach, including Etosha National Park, known for wildlife viewing, and the Namib Desert with its red dunes in Sossusvlei. Visitors can also travel to Swakopmund on the Atlantic coast or explore the coastal landscapes of the Skeleton Coast. The country is characterised by wide open landscapes, long distances between towns and relatively few direct international flights.
Airlines are adjusting routes for summer 2026 as travel demand changes between regions. More routes and additional frequencies make it simpler to find suitable connections that fit planned travel dates. Some adjustments may still occur if conditions affecting certain routes change, but the larger schedule offers more options for planning trips across different parts of the network during the summer season.
