Wizz Air will enter Cagliari Airport in December with new domestic links to Milan Malpensa and Venice. The services add another low-cost option for people travelling between southern Sardinia and northern Italy, including residents, winter visitors and those connecting onwards. Both routes are already on sale, while the higher Milan frequency gives passengers more choice across the day rather than relying on a single departure.

Key Details of Wizz Air’s New Cagliari Routes

  • Airline: Wizz Air
  • Launch date: 14 December 2026
  • Cagliari–Milan Malpensa: Twice daily
  • Cagliari–Venice: Daily
  • Seasonality: No end date announced
  • Fares: From €19.99
  • Booking: Tickets on sale now through Wizz Air

The launch marks the start of Wizz Air operations at Cagliari Airport. Milan Malpensa will receive two flights a day, while Venice will have one daily service. Tickets are available now through the airline’s website, with the lowest advertised fare starting at €19.99. No end date or seasonal restriction has been stated, so later travel periods should be checked directly during booking.

The routes make two very different parts of northern Italy easier to reach directly from southern Sardinia. Milan Malpensa serves Milan and wider Lombardy, including onward journeys towards Lake Maggiore and other northern cities. Venice offers access to the historic centre, the lagoon islands and nearby Veneto destinations such as Padua, giving Cagliari passengers more choice for short breaks and family visits.

The Milan route is the more significant addition because two daily flights create far more flexibility than a single service. Venice still gains a useful daily connection, especially around Christmas and New Year when demand between Sardinia and mainland Italy rises. The €19.99 fares are limited and may sell out quickly, so anyone interested should compare dates and check the final price before booking.
