Hyatt’s First UK JdV Hotel Is Coming to Oxfordshire

Oxford Witney Hotel in Oxfordshire is set to become the first JdV by Hyatt property in the UK by the end of 2026. The existing 130-room hotel is undergoing a major refurbishment before joining Hyatt’s lifestyle brand, creating a new upscale base for visitors exploring Witney, Oxford and the Cotswolds. The project will also bring redesigned interiors, a restaurant and bar, and event space to the property.
The hotel sits on Ducklington Lane, a short walk from Witney’s historic centre and about 15 miles west of Oxford. Its redesign will draw on the town’s wool-making history and the Arts & Crafts movement, while the restaurant and bar will use produce from local suppliers. Hyatt says the property will be operated by InnPractice under a franchise agreement with an affiliate of CL Capital.

Witney works well as a base for combining town and countryside. Cogges Manor Farm, used as a Downton Abbey filming location, is nearby, while Blenheim Palace, Minster Lovell Hall and Oxford are realistic day trips. The Cotswolds are also within easy reach. Staying here may suit visitors who want access to Oxfordshire without basing themselves in central Oxford for the entire trip.
The strongest reason to consider this hotel is its location rather than the brand name alone. It sits between an Oxford city break and a Cotswolds stay, with direct buses into Oxford and road access to surrounding villages. Hyatt has not yet released opening rates or a firm launch date, so the real value will be easier to judge once bookings open and the post-renovation room offer is published.
