Bremen Reconnects With Italy This Winter
Bremen Airport will regain a direct link to Italy this winter, with Ryanair launching a new route to Lamezia Terme in Calabria from 25 October. It will be Bremen’s first direct Italy connection since 2020 and Ryanair’s first service from the airport to Lamezia Terme. The route joins a 2026/27 winter programme with 17 direct destinations, including the Canary Islands, Spain, Turkey and London.

Bremen Airport has not published fixed departure times in its winter announcement, so passengers should check their exact date directly with Ryanair. With no other direct Italy service from Bremen in the winter programme, Lamezia Terme removes the need for a connection or a journey to another departure airport for travellers whose dates match the twice-weekly schedule.
Landing at Lamezia Terme puts visitors in central Calabria rather than at a city-only gateway. SACAL links the terminal with Lamezia Terme Centrale by the Lamezia AirLink bus, while regional buses serve Tropea, Catanzaro, Cosenza and Vibo Valentia. The flight therefore makes the Costa degli Dei, including Tropea and Pizzo, easier to reach, alongside Lamezia’s Norman-Swabian castle and the Terme di Caronte.
The new route gives Bremen passengers a direct Calabria option, but the Friday-and-Sunday pattern will not suit every trip. Check both legs before booking accommodation, especially for shorter breaks, because changing either date may mean adding a connection or using another airport. If Calabria dates do not work, Bremen’s winter timetable still includes nonstop leisure routes to Spain, the Canary Islands and Turkey on different operating patterns.
