Transavia Moves Flights as Eindhoven Closes for Renovation
Transavia will temporarily shift part of its operations to Maastricht Aachen Airport and Weeze Airport during the closure of Eindhoven Airport, which is scheduled from 1 February to 18 July 2027. The runway renovation will suspend flight operations at Eindhoven, a key base for the airline for almost two decades. The carrier confirmed that alternative departure points have been selected to maintain connections for passengers in the region.
Eindhoven Airport has long served travellers from the south and east of the Netherlands, offering convenient access to holiday destinations across Europe and beyond. During the closure, Transavia will base two aircraft at Maastricht Aachen Airport and four at Weeze Airport in Germany. The remaining aircraft will continue operating within the airline’s wider network as part of ongoing fleet adjustments.
Flights from Weeze Airport will connect passengers with destinations in Spain, Portugal and Morocco. From Maastricht Aachen Airport, travellers will be able to reach several popular destinations in Spain, Portugal and the Canary Islands. Tickets for the winter 2026–2027 season will be available from 16 April via the airline’s booking channels, with summer 2027 routes expected to be confirmed later.

The temporary move allows winter holiday plans to continue even while Eindhoven Airport is closed for renovation. Nearby departure airports help keep routes available, so trips to southern Europe and Morocco remain possible during this period. The schedule changes show how airlines reorganise flights when major airports suspend operations, helping maintain connections without removing popular destinations from the timetable.
