Jet2 has identified ten scheduled flights on 12 August that could give passengers views of the 2026 solar eclipse while travelling home from European holiday destinations. The airline says routes leaving Ibiza, Faro, Tenerife, Agadir, Alicante, Málaga, Majorca and Zakynthos may pass through areas of total or partial eclipse, although what passengers actually see will depend on weather, final routing and seat position.

Jet2 Flights Listed for Eclipse Views

  • LS1836: Ibiza–Bristol, 20:15 local / 18:15 UTC
  • LS1516: Ibiza–London Stansted, 21:00 / 19:00 UTC
  • LS874: Faro–Manchester, 19:05 / 18:05 UTC
  • LS1892: Tenerife South–Bristol, 18:00 UTC
  • LS1130: Agadir–Birmingham, 20:00 / 19:00 UTC
  • LS274: Alicante–Leeds Bradford, 20:25 / 18:25 UTC
  • LS266: Málaga–Leeds Bradford, 20:35 / 18:35 UTC

  • LS258: Palma–Leeds Bradford, 21:00 / 19:00 UTC

Jet2 says the Ibiza–Bristol and Ibiza–London Stansted services are expected to pass closest to the path of totality, while Faro–Manchester and Tenerife–Bristol could also cross areas with high eclipse coverage. Other listed services may offer partial views as they travel towards the UK. The airline has not promised visibility, and any observation will still depend on operational routing and conditions on the evening.

People who are not on one of the ten flights may still have strong viewing opportunities on the ground on 12 August. Jet2 highlights Majorca, Menorca and Ibiza within the total-eclipse zone, while Alicante, Costa Blanca, Barcelona, Girona, Costa Brava, Reus, Costa Dorada, Costa de Almeria, the Algarve, Marrakech and Agadir are among destinations expected to experience high eclipse coverage.

Anyone hoping to watch should treat eye protection as essential rather than optional. Jet2 advises using certified solar-eclipse glasses because ordinary sunglasses are not safe for looking directly at the Sun, and cameras need a suitable solar filter during the partial phases. Flight timings can also change, so being booked on one of the listed services does not guarantee a view from the aircraft.
