Salzburg Airport’s winter 2026/27 schedule gives travellers a mix of direct sun breaks, city trips and one-stop long-haul options without first travelling to a larger airport. Rome continues beyond summer, while Egypt, the Canary Islands, Spain and Morocco all feature across the colder months. Some routes run only around Christmas or the February school holidays, so the useful part of the timetable is knowing exactly when each option operates.
Where Salzburg Flies This Winter
- Rome: SkyAlps, Monday and Friday, until 4 January; returns in early March.
- Alicante: Ryanair, Wednesday and Sunday, year-round.
- Gran Canaria: Eurowings, Sunday, 11 October–2 May.
- Tenerife: Eurowings, Friday, 30 October–7 May.
- Hurghada: Eurowings, year-round; Marsa Alam runs 29 October–29 April.
- Palma: Up to daily over Christmas and again from 14 February.

Outside the leisure routes, Salzburg keeps useful connections for city breaks and onward travel. Amsterdam can operate up to daily in winter, although Transavia does not serve the route in November; Rotterdam and Eindhoven are seasonal. London is served through several airports, while Birmingham, Manchester and Dublin return for the ski season. Frankfurt remains the most frequent hub connection, with Lufthansa flying up to four times a day.
The schedule also opens several easy winter-trip combinations. Rome works for a long weekend, while Tenerife, Gran Canaria and Egypt suit longer stays in warmer weather. Marrakesh runs into May, and Copenhagen, Stockholm and Reykjavik add northern city options during the ski season. Barcelona and Palma are concentrated around holiday periods, making them especially relevant to travellers tied to school calendars rather than flexible dates.
The main booking trap is assuming every destination runs throughout winter. Dubai is listed as year-round, but flydubai has a pause until 10 December, and some Netherlands and Spain routes operate only on selected dates. Salzburg Airport also labels the schedule as a preview subject to change. Check the airport timetable first, then confirm the exact flight with the airline before paying for non-refundable accommodation or onward transport.
