Norse Pulls New York Flights from Winter Schedule
Norse Atlantic is removing New York from its winter 2026/27 schedule, suspending planned flights from London Gatwick and Rome Fiumicino to JFK. The change takes two transatlantic options off sale for the full winter season after both routes had previously been scheduled to continue through winter.

The suspension matters most for people already booked. Gatwick departures fall under UK261, while Rome departures are covered by EU261. If Norse cancels the flight, travellers must be offered reimbursement or rerouting under comparable conditions. Fixed compensation normally does not apply when cancellation notice is given more than 14 days before departure, but the right to a refund or rerouting still remains.
Norse is also building a much larger Thailand programme for the same winter season. Gatwick–Phuket will operate three times weekly, while Manchester–Bangkok increases to four weekly flights from December. Bangkok services from Oslo and Stockholm are also scheduled to reach up to five flights a week, giving the airline a noticeably stronger presence in Southeast Asia while its New York services pause for winter.
The main change is less choice on the London–New York and Rome–New York routes, rather than the loss of non-stop flights altogether. Anyone already booked with Norse should check the rerouting option before accepting a refund, as the two are normally offered as alternatives under UK and EU passenger-rights rules. This can be important if replacement flights with another airline are significantly more expensive.
