Sentosa Island Closes Beaches Following Oil Spill From Nearby Port Collision
Sentosa Island, Singapore, has temporarily closed its beaches due to an oil spill resulting from a port collision. The incident occurred on Friday at the Pasir Panjang terminal, leading to immediate clean-up efforts to restore the area and ensure tourist safety.
The collision involved a Netherlands-flagged dredger and a stationary Singapore-flagged bunker vessel, causing significant oil contamination in the nearby waters. Three popular beaches on Sentosa—Tanjong, Palawan, and Siloso—are currently closed to the public.
