New Dubai–Vilnius Route Takes Off

flydubai has begun running direct flights between Dubai and Vilnius, opening a new connection between the UAE and Lithuania. The airline now operates three weekly flights to the Lithuanian capital, marking its arrival on the local market and strengthening its presence across Central and Eastern Europe. With this route in place, Dubai becomes far easier to reach for Baltic passengers heading on long-distance journeys.
With the start of operations to Vilnius, flydubai becomes the first UAE carrier to offer a nonstop service between the two cities. Lithuanian officials highlighted the significance of attracting more international airlines and noted that four new carriers have begun operating in the country over the past two years. Around 40,000 passengers are expected to use the Dubai service in its first year.
The flights run three times weekly, following this schedule:
- FZ 1263: Dubai (17:30) → Vilnius (22:35)
- FZ 1264: Vilnius (23:35) → Dubai (08:20)
Representatives from flydubai and Lithuanian Airports described the launch as an important step for both markets. Direct access to Dubai supports business links, widens options for leisure travel, and strengthens ties with one of the Middle East’s key aviation hubs. Thanks to the airline’s codeshare with Emirates, passengers departing from Vilnius also gain a straightforward connection to a much broader international network.
The new service also opens up far more travel possibilities. Dubai’s beaches, cultural districts, and year-round warm weather are now easier to reach, and the route offers simple onward access to long-haul destinations including the Maldives, Sri Lanka, Zanzibar, and Thailand. The direct link removes the extra step of transferring through another European airport, which is especially useful for holidaymakers, business travellers, and those flying to visit relatives abroad.
“Today, we celebrate a new link between two cities and two countries. flydubai’s decision to connect Vilnius and Dubai is not just about launching a new route; it’s about opening doors to endless possibilities for two nations with much to offer each other."
The launch gives the Baltic region a noticeable boost in direct air links. A nonstop route to Dubai strengthens Lithuania’s position on the aviation map and shows that major carriers are paying closer attention to the market. As flydubai continues adding European destinations, Vilnius gains a simple connection to a major global hub. The route is likely to become a reliable choice for passengers who prefer shorter journeys and fewer steps when travelling long distances.
