Three London boroughs are currently competing for the title of the most depressed place in the UK. The iLiveHere organization has initiated an annual survey, altering the traditional "worst place to live" category to "bland, boring, soul-destroying mediocrity with a gaping cultural void."

Among other cities bordering London, Luton (2.16%) and Crawley (1.94%) are leading the race. However, this time, the focus of MyLondon is on three specific London boroughs.

Croydon

This southern London borough currently ranks 12th in the iLiveHere survey, receiving 1.75% of the votes. This isn't the first time Croydon has been negatively spotlighted by the public, as it has previously appeared in the top 10 rankings in previous years, indicating a degree of consistency in its perception.

Orpington

The Orpington area has also earned a spot on the notorious list, being labeled as one of the most depressing places to reside. One review criticizes the dullness of the local populace and the monotony of the streets.

Hounslow

Hounslow is another London neighborhood that has previously been dubbed the "worst," having been among the contenders last year. Presently, the number of negative ratings has decreased to 0.66% of the vote. Despite the stereotypes associated with it, Hounslow has its merits, including a diverse array of bars and pubs, such as the Bulstrode Pub, and its convenient proximity to Heathrow Airport.
