Jet2 Opens Two New Greek Routes from Bristol for Summer 2026
Jet2.com and Jet2holidays intend to expand their Summer 2026 schedule from Bristol Airport by introducing two Greek destinations: the Olympus Riviera and Meganisi Island. This decision is in response to growing demand for travel to Greece and offers additional opportunities for travelers from the southwest of England and Wales. The new routes are intended to diversify the airline's summer network and provide convenient connections for both cultural and leisure travel.
Weekly flights to the Olympic Riviera will take place on Tuesdays from May 5 to October 6, 2026, linking Bristol with Thessaloniki Airport. This region showcases both mountainous landscapes and views of the Aegean Sea, offering visitors the chance to hike, explore historic sites, and partake in a variety of outdoor activities. Jet2holidays provides vacation packages at five resorts, featuring accommodations that range from 3-star to 5-star hotels. Travelers can select from different board types depending on their preferences.
“Greece continues to be a summer sunshine favourite, so we are adding even more choice thanks to the introduction of getaways to the Olympus Riviera and Meganisi. These destinations will no doubt prove popular with customers and independent travel agents in the South West looking for an authentic Greek holiday experience."
Meganisi, a small island in the Ionian Sea located off the coast of Lefkada, will be accessible via Preveza Airport with weekly Sunday flights beginning 3 May 2026. Known for its quiet atmosphere and traditional Greek character, the island provides an alternative to busier tourist destinations. Travel packages will include ferry and shuttle transfers to resorts. Visitors have the option of staying in 3- and 4-star hotels in Vathy or opting for private villas in Spartochori village to enjoy a more self-sufficient experience.
By adding these destinations, Jet2's summer network grows to include over 110 routes and around three million seats available. Visitors to the Olympus Riviera can explore Mount Olympus, famed as the mythical home of the Greek gods, along with historical landmarks like Platamon Castle and the charming village of Litochoro. Meganisi is home to picturesque fishing villages such as Vati and Spartachori, secluded beaches, and scenic hiking trails, offering visitors opportunities to experience local culture, take nature walks, and relax in a peaceful environment.
These new routes also offer travelers a variety of holiday experiences that go beyond traditional sightseeing. Travelers have the chance to savor local dishes in quaint tavernas, discover secluded coves and tranquil beaches, or engage in activities like sailing and snorkeling. Both destinations allow for flexible itineraries, from short excursions to longer stays, offering a mix of cultural insight and relaxation. The expansion highlights the growing interest in less conventional Greek destinations for summer travel.
