In the heart of Birmingham, at Centenary Square, an incident occurred that shocked both locals and tourists. The 180-foot-high Star Flyer ride unexpectedly malfunctioned during operation. The moment was captured on video by eyewitnesses, showing people scrambling to free those trapped in their seats.

The ride’s structure suddenly descended to ground level around 7:30 PM on Thursday. Rescue teams, including paramedics, promptly arrived at the scene to assist the victims. As reported by the ambulance service, assistance was provided to 13 individuals. Two women, suffering from injuries that posed no serious threat, were transported to the hospital, whereas the other 11 were attended to at the scene.

This incident raises concerns about the safety of such attractions, particularly in popular tourist areas. For travelers, it’s essential to pay attention to the condition of rides, read reviews, and verify operator certifications. Although such accidents are rare, they highlight the need for strict monitoring of equipment maintenance.

Birmingham remains an attractive destination for tourists, offering a variety of landmarks, including Centenary Square, renowned for its vibrant light installations and cultural events. While incidents like the Star Flyer malfunction are rare, they serve as a reminder to prioritize safety and remain vigilant when choosing entertainment options during your travels.
