Ryanair Keeps Košice–Málaga Flying Through Winter
Ryanair is keeping its Košice–Málaga route running through winter for the first time, turning the seasonal Spain link into a year-round option. The Winter 2026/27 programme covers five destinations, with Málaga becoming the only direct connection between eastern Slovakia and Spain during the winter season. Flights are already on sale, giving travellers a new non-stop option for southern Spain outside the usual summer months.

Exact departure times should be checked for individual dates, particularly on the Stansted route where frequency varies during the season. Ryanair’s basic allowance includes one small personal bag measuring up to 40 x 30 x 20cm, which must fit under the seat; larger cabin bags and checked luggage cost extra. In Málaga, the airport’s C1 train reaches the city centre in about 12 minutes and María Zambrano station in eight.
Málaga is easy to explore on a short winter break. The Alcazaba, Roman Theatre and cathedral are all close to the historic centre, while the Picasso Museum adds a strong cultural stop. For food, Mercado de Atarazanas is an easy choice, and the C1 train also makes it simple to continue along the Costa del Sol to Benalmádena or Fuengirola.
For the first time, the Košice–Málaga route will continue through winter instead of ending with the summer season. With only two services a week, however, dates need to work in both directions before booking accommodation. Compare the complete fare after baggage and seats, and check the live schedule before paying, especially if the trip includes rail connections or a stay elsewhere on the Costa del Sol.
