Hannover Expands Direct Flights With Nice, Alicante and Glasgow
Eurowings has launched a new direct service linking Hannover with Nice, marking the start of an expanded Mediterranean offering from the German airport. The first flight departed this week, with the route now operating three times a week on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The new connection adds the French Riviera to Hannover’s growing list of direct leisure destinations.
The route provides non-stop access to Nice, a coastal city in south-eastern France known for its waterfront, historic centre and café culture. With regular departures throughout the week, the schedule is designed to suit both short breaks and longer stays. The addition strengthens links between northern Germany and one of the Mediterranean’s most visited regions.
Further expansion is planned in the coming days. From 5 May, Eurowings will introduce a second Mediterranean route to Alicante, operating twice weekly on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The Spanish coastal city is a popular option for beach-focused travel. Later in the summer season, the airline will also add Glasgow, widening the network beyond southern Europe.
New routes from Hannover
- Nice – three times weekly (Wed, Fri, Sun)
- Alicante – twice weekly from 5 May (Tue, Sat)
- Glasgow – launching in summer
These additions make it easier to reach a mix of coastal and city destinations without changing planes. The new routes open access to the French Riviera, Spain’s Costa Blanca and Scotland’s largest city, all directly from Hannover, giving more flexibility when planning short trips or combining different types of travel across the season.
The update shows how regional airports continue to build out direct connections rather than relying on larger hubs. With more destinations available from one airport, travel planning becomes simpler, especially for shorter trips. The routes run non-stop, without connections through larger airports.
