Newcastle Gets Five Winter easyJet Routes

easyJet is adding five winter routes at Newcastle Airport, giving the North East more direct options for city breaks, winter sun and festive trips. The airline says the expansion follows the opening of its Newcastle base in March 2026, which has helped grow its network at the airport to 31 routes now on sale.
What Newcastle Travellers Get This Winter

Package holidays are also being sold through easyJet holidays for Barcelona, Berlin, Copenhagen and Hurghada. These include flights and hotels, while Hurghada beach packages also include 23kg luggage and transfers. Seats can be booked through easyJet’s website or mobile app, and the airline says its Book with Confidence Promise applies to flight and holiday prices once booked.
The routes put several winter trip types within easier reach of Newcastle. Berlin and Copenhagen suit Christmas markets and short cultural breaks, Barcelona adds a warmer city option outside peak summer, and Hurghada gives direct access to the Red Sea. Rovaniemi is the family headline, with Lapland trips available in time for the festive season.
The update matters most for people in the North East who usually face extra rail journeys, overnight stays or airport transfers before flying. A twice-weekly schedule still needs careful date planning, but the range is stronger than a single beach route or one festive special. Newcastle now has a broader winter map, and that gives local travellers more room to choose.
