Greek Islands See a Post-Odyssey Booking Boost
Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey is already influencing where people want to spend their next Mediterranean break. easyJet holidays says bookings for mainland Greece and the Greek islands rose 18% week on week after the film’s release, with destinations connected to filming seeing some of the strongest growth. The company has responded by creating a collection of package holidays linked to locations featured in the movie.

- Corfu: Package bookings increased 28%, while searches rose 9%
- Peloponnese: Searches climbed 12%, including interest in Kalamata

- Sicily: Searches rose 10% for Catania and 9% for Palermo, while bookings linked to the region increased 8%
- Odyssey Holidays collection: easyJet holidays has launched 10 packages across Greece and Sicily, including flights, hotel stays, 23kg luggage and transfers
- Deposit: Packages can be booked with a deposit starting at £60 per person
The strongest jump has been recorded in Corfu, while the Peloponnese is also attracting more attention through searches for gateways such as Kalamata. Sicily is seeing a similar effect, with Catania and Palermo gaining interest as starting points for trips towards the Aeolian and Egadi islands. easyJet holidays says bookings linked to these Sicilian gateways increased by 8% week on week.
The trend is also drawing attention beyond the best-known Greek resorts. The Peloponnese combines ancient sites such as Mycenae and Epidaurus with long stretches of coastline, while Kefalonia and Zante offer access to the Ionian islands featured around the film’s Mediterranean setting. In Italy, growing searches for Catania and Palermo reflect interest in reaching the Aeolian and Egadi islands, which are linked to the production’s locations.
