First Bus will start running AI-tuned timetables on 33 routes in Glasgow from April 20th, promising more on-time performances and less delay. The new schedules have been revised with real-time traffic information to better reflect growing congestion that has messed up schedules in recent years. These enhancements build on the modifications that began in 2023 with 8.3% service punctuality overall improvements for these and other routes.

Some of the key changes are more fleet on routes 61 and 75, a rerouted M3 that avoids Hope Street now turns into Renfrew Street instead. Route 43 will also run daily to Parkhead Forge and Glasgow Fort. These updates embody First Buses dedication to ensuring that the public transport in Glasgow matches today’s road conditions wherever possible, to make the system more reliable for everyone.

Especially those visiting Glasgow for the first time, these changes offer a more reliable and flexible way to explore the city. Having more frequent services on busy routes means less time waiting and timetable accuracy means it is easier to plan outings to the top popular sights such as museums and cultural centres. Tourists using public transit no longer need to guess when the next bus will arrive or risk missing connections due to unpredictable traffic.

The use of artificial intelligence in public transport scheduling also opens the door to more spontaneous exploration. Now visitors can feel safer going to the more outer areas, as return buses will run more reliably. This makes it easier to enjoy destinations like Glasgow Green or the West End without worrying about long delays or inconsistent service.
