Glasgow Gains Direct Lisbon Flights for Summer 2026
A new direct flight now connects Glasgow Airport with Lisbon, adding a straightforward way to reach the Portuguese capital during the summer season. The inaugural flight departed on 29 March, marking the first time the airline has operated this connection. Services are scheduled twice weekly, giving travellers additional choice when planning short breaks or longer stays in one of southern Europe’s most visited capitals.
Flight Schedule
- Wednesday departures throughout the summer season
- Sunday departures throughout the summer season
- Fares available from £39.99 one way including taxes
- City break packages from £234 per person for three nights
Tickets are available through easyJet’s website and mobile app. The airline also offers holiday packages that combine flights with accommodation in three-, four- or five-star hotels. These packages include flexible booking conditions, allowing changes to reservations, as well as refund and price guarantees designed to give greater certainty when organising travel plans for the summer months.
"It's great to be launching our latest route, and package holiday options, from Glasgow to Lisbon. The capital of Portugal is the ideal destination for travellers seeking a vibrant culinary escape as well as stunning scenery and a rich history."
Lisbon rises on hills beside the Atlantic, with older districts set along steep streets and viewpoints over the river. People often spend time in Alfama and Bairro Alto, where tiled buildings, small squares and open views of the Tagus shape everyday walks. Food also draws attention, whether picking up a warm pastel de nata from a neighbourhood bakery or choosing simple local dishes in markets linked to Portugal’s seafaring past.
Improved access may encourage more trips to Portugal’s capital and nearby coastal areas. From Lisbon, travellers can easily reach Sintra’s historic palaces, Cascais beaches or surfing spots along the Atlantic coast. The new schedule also allows flexible long-weekend planning, while the wider region offers walking routes, viewpoints and cultural sites that remain popular during warmer months when daylight hours are longer.
Additional direct flights can influence how easily southern European destinations fit into short travel plans. Flights twice a week make it easier to plan a city break without extra transfers. Airlines regularly review their routes, and new connections can shorten journeys that previously took longer or involved more than one change, which matters most during busy holiday periods.
