Between April and June, London Gatwick quietly expanded its map with eight fresh destinations, setting the stage for a more varied summer travel season in 2025. These updates, introduced by a mix of European and African carriers, extend access to smaller cities and coastal areas that were not previously served directly. These new flights arrive just as summer reaches full swing, right when people start searching for quick getaways and sunny places without needing long layovers.

The updated network includes cities that are rarely covered by major airports, offering passengers from Gatwick direct fights to destinations that usually require connections. These additions reflect recent airline scheduling changes aimed at expanding point-to-point access. While frequency varies between routes, all of them are currently listed in the summer timetable and will operate for at least part of the peak travel period.

New access to Rimini allows visits to Roman-era landmarks like the Tiberius Bridge and Arch of Augustus. From Salerno, it’s an easy jump to the Amalfi Coast, with winding routes leading up to places like Vietri sul Mare and Ravello tucked into the hills. Ålesund serves as a base for exploring western fjords including Geiranger, while also showcasing Nordic Art Nouveau architecture. Brest reveals its maritime past through old coastal defenses and a museum that shares stories of its time as an active naval port.

Billund mixes places for family fun with ancient sites like the Jelling stones and old burial hills that tell stories from Viking times. Wrocław is known for its Gothic buildings and many bridges that connect the small islands spread across its river. Antalya connects to coastal ruins and beaches along Türkiye’s southern shore. Entebbe links to Lake Victoria, Kampala, and protected areas, serving as a practical entry point to Uganda’s interior.

Travellers leaving from London or nearby areas will find fewer transfers needed through major European hubs thanks to these new routes. They may offer more flexibility for those planning short city visits, family holidays, or regional exploration. By adding non-stop services to cities with limited existing connections, Gatwick’s updated summer schedule broadens access to destinations that were previously less accessible.
