Leo Express will run its Frankfurt–Prague–Przemyśl service entirely by train from 31 July, ending the temporary bus replacement used on the Polish section. The route began on 25 June, but an economic equilibrium test in Poland prevented the operator from using rail throughout. With that process now resolved, passengers will be able to remain on the same train across Germany, Czechia and Poland.

What Changes on the Frankfurt–Przemyśl Route

  • Operator: Leo Express
  • Route: Frankfurt–Dresden–Prague–Ostrava–Przemyśl
  • Full rail service begins: 31 July 2026
  • Service type: International overnight train
  • Przemyśl departure: 12:04, arriving in Frankfurt at 07:22
  • Frankfurt departure: 15:03, arriving in Przemyśl at 11:25
  • Economy fares: From €9.90
  • Business fares: From €24.90
  • Economy Sleeper: From €37.90, including breakfast
  • Polish tickets currently on sale: Until 29 August

Couchettes will also be introduced across the full route at the end of July, adding 32 places to each train. Economy Sleeper compartments will accommodate one to four people and include air conditioning, Wi-Fi, power sockets and breakfast. Passengers can choose mixed or women-only compartments. Leo Express says German engineering works may alter timings on some dates, so departure details should be checked before travel.

The through service links several useful city-break and onward-travel points without a bus transfer in Poland. Passengers can combine Frankfurt, Dresden and Prague with Kraków, Oświęcim, Rzeszów and Przemyśl on one itinerary along the way. Przemyśl is also a major interchange for trains and coaches towards Ukraine, while the overnight format can save a hotel night and leave more daytime for sightseeing.

The biggest change is not speed but continuity. Removing the replacement bus makes the journey simpler for people carrying luggage, travelling overnight or connecting towards Ukraine. The couchettes also make the full distance more realistic than spending hours in a seat. Because Polish sales currently stop at 29 August and German works may affect timings, booking early still needs to be paired with a final timetable check.
