As of 5 April 2025, Condor Airlines has officially launched its new direct connections from Frankfurt to both Rome and Palermo, with regular operations now fully underway. Condor's first flight landed in Rome and continued directly to Palermo, thus increasing the reach of the airline's European network right on the cusp of the spring travel season. These routes are now part of the carrier’s scheduled services, enhancing access to Italy for German and international travellers alike.

Rome and Palermo were recently added to Condor’s growing list of European city destinations, which already includes Vienna, Zurich, Berlin, Hamburg, and Munich. The airline is set to introduce flights to Milan, Paris, and Prague in early May. Passengers flying on these routes can select between Business and Economy Class, with Economy Light fares including a carry-on bag and personal item—ideal for city-hopping and weekend getaways.

Rome has become more accessible with direct flights for those who are looking to see the ancient attractions. From the Colosseum and Roman Forum to the Vatican Museums and charming piazzas, travellers can immerse themselves in the history and culture of Italy’s capital. The city with its efficient public transport system and central location is also a good base to start exploring the rest of Italy.

In Palermo, travellers can dive into Sicily’s distinctive charm—where Norman architecture meets bustling local markets and dramatic coastal scenery. Convenient flights minimize the time taken to get into Palermo – the historic centre, Monreale Cathedral and beach town of Cefalù are all easily accessible. The route also allows adventurous travellers to explore Sicily’s rural areas and UNESCO heritage sites with fewer travel barriers.

These connections are not just a matter of logistics convenience, they offer greater mobility in travel planning to southern Europe. Whether it be spur of the moment city breaks or across the longer routes of cultural tours, the opening of these routes will equate to less transfers, quicker travel times and more opportunities for personalised, destination driven journeys.
