Eurostar Cuts London–Paris Trains on Four More Weekends

Eurostar is reducing services between London and Paris on four more weekends before the end of 2026, with some trains cancelled and others taking longer than usual. Engineering works near Paris Gare du Nord are behind the changes, which affect departures in October, November and December. The route remains open, but passengers with existing bookings may need to travel at different times.
Dates and Options for Affected Passengers
- Route: London St Pancras–Paris Gare du Nord.
- October: 17–18 and 24–25.
- November: 28–29.
- December: 5–6.
- Timetable: Fewer trains; some journeys may take longer.
- Cancelled service: Request a refund or free exchange.
- Booking changes: Check Eurostar's email and updated journey details.
- Travel updates: Available on Eurostar's website and app.
Eurostar says it has already contacted customers whose trains have been cancelled or rescheduled. Further changes may follow, although no total number of cancellations or standard additional journey time has been announced. Passengers with cancelled services can exchange unused tickets for another available train in the same class without paying an exchange fee. Refunds can also be requested through Manage Your Booking.
The reduced timetable could complicate weekend breaks and journeys involving connections beyond Paris. Travellers continuing to other French cities should pay particular attention to their arrival time at Gare du Nord and the departure station for their next train. Separately booked connections may not offer the same protection as through-tickets. Eurostar advises customers to contact the relevant operator about compensation for affected connecting services.
Anyone whose train still operates should follow the latest confirmed departure time rather than assuming it has been cancelled. If a Eurostar service arrives at least 60 minutes late, passengers may qualify for compensation, even if they complete their journey. Claims can be submitted after travelling. If your train is cancelled, contact Eurostar before buying another ticket, as the cost of alternative transport may not be covered.
