flydubai Launches Direct Flights to Chișinău
flydubai has inaugurated its twice-weekly service to Chișinău, becoming the only UAE airline to offer direct flights to Moldova. The first flight landed at International Airport "Eugen Doga" Chișinău to a traditional water cannon salute and a welcome by airport officials, including General Director Sergiu Spoială. This new route is part of flydubai’s strategy to connect Dubai with underserved destinations across Europe.
The flights will operate on Wednesdays and Sundays from Dubai International Airport’s Terminal 2. Emirates will codeshare on this route, giving passengers more choice when connecting through Dubai’s global hub. Fares start from AED 1,600 in Economy Class Lite and from AED 8,000 in Business Class. Return flights from Chișinău are priced from EUR 380 and EUR 2,000 respectively.
“We are delighted to welcome flydubai to International Airport ‘Eugen Doga’ Chișinău. The launch of this direct connection to Dubai marks an important milestone for our airport and for Moldova, creating new opportunities for tourism, business and cultural exchange. This partnership strengthens our role as a key gateway in the region and offers our passengers greater connectivity to the Middle East, Asia and Africa, while fostering closer economic ties between Moldova and the United Arab Emirates."
flydubai’s Divisional Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations, Jeyhun Efendi, said the new connection strengthens links between the UAE and Moldova. He highlighted the importance of giving customers access to emerging destinations and supporting the free flow of trade and tourism. Airport Director Sergiu Spoială added that the partnership marks a milestone for Moldova, offering improved links to the Middle East, Asia and Africa.
This new connection makes Dubai, with its world-class shopping, beaches and vibrant culture, just over five hours away from Moldova. At the same time, UAE residents gain easier access to Chișinău’s charming mix of Soviet-era and European architecture, Cathedral Park, Rose Valley Park and the renowned Cricova wine cellars, some of the largest underground wine complexes in the world.
“We are pleased to strengthen our connectivity to Europe with the launch of our twice-weekly service to Chișinău. As our newest gateway to Europe, Moldova offers our customers more options to explore previously underserved destinations. This reflects our commitment to facilitating free flows of trade and tourism while providing convenient and diverse travel choices for our passengers from the UAE and across our network."
Direct flights between Dubai and Chișinău cut hours off the journey and remove the hassle of changing planes in other cities. The new route gives business passengers more time on the ground and makes family visits simpler. Tourists now have a straightforward way to reach Moldova’s capital. The service shows how Moldova is becoming more connected with the world and offers more choice when planning a trip.
