Expedia’s Black Friday Flash Deals Reach 75% on Select Stays
Expedia and Hotels are preparing hotel flash deals of up to 75% for Black Friday, but the deepest discounts will appear only on selected properties and dates. Their wider November sale also covers package holidays, car hire and holiday rentals, with offers aimed at trips well into 2027. The headline savings sound substantial; the booking window, travel cut-off and cancellation rules deserve a closer look.
On Expedia, eligible offers extend beyond rooms to packages, car hire discounted by up to 25% and activities; Hotels focuses on accommodation. Vrbo promotes holiday homes with advance-booking and weekly-stay discounts. Hotels also promises an extra 15% coupon on Cyber Monday. No universal minimum nightly price is published. Rates depend on travel dates and availability, and cancellation conditions can differ between rooms.
When Expedia’s Biggest Hotel Discounts Appear
- Expedia: 17 November–3 December; packages up to 30% off.
- Hotels: 17 November–1 December; hotels up to 50% off.
- Flash deals: Up to 75% off select stays at 09:00 EST on 27, 30 November and 1 December (Expedia); 27 November and 1 December (Hotels).
- Travel: Flash stays must finish by 30 April 2027; other deals by 30 December 2027.
- Refunds/prices: No minimum published; cancellation rules vary by booking.
A 75% label says little without the final bill. Expedia says standard discounted rates need no code or minimum spend, though some offers require membership or a coupon. Compare the same property, dates and room type, including taxes, local charges and breakfast. Cancellation terms can differ even at the same hotel. One room might offer a full refund, while another is non-refundable. On Vrbo, the advertised savings depend on whether a property offers both early-booking and weekly-stay discounts.
Holidaymakers looking at Christmas 2027 should ignore the 75% headline rate. Flash deals are restricted to stays ending by 30 April, although other offers cover selected dates as late as 30 December. The cheapest room isn't necessarily the best deal either. Hotels can list refundable and non-refundable rates side by side, sometimes with little difference in price. That matters when booking months ahead.
