8th May 2024, Croatia Airlines inaugurated its new seasonal flight path between Split, Croatia, and Istanbul, Turkey, marking a significant expansion in its international service offerings from Split Airport. This development comes as part of Croatia Airlines' efforts to enhance air connectivity between Split and numerous global destinations throughout the 2023 summer season.

The initial flight from Split to Istanbul, operated under flight number OU4352, was carried out using an Airbus A319, accommodating 77 passengers. The return leg from Istanbul to Split occurred this morning, transporting 31 passengers back under flight number 4353. In celebration of the route's launch, Croatia Airlines offered a 20 percent discount voucher to all passengers on these inaugural flights, applicable to their next ticket purchase on this route.

Looking ahead, Croatia Airlines has scheduled direct flights between Split and Istanbul three times weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays until mid-October. This new route is expected to provide travelers with greater flexibility and options for international travel via Split.

During this year's summer season, the airline aims to connect Split Airport to a total of 21 international destinations across 22 airports, including major cities like Amsterdam, Athens, Vienna, Berlin, and London, among others. The airline's broader strategy includes plans to connect Croatia with 28 international destinations, involving 29 European airports and operating across 50 international routes. Croatia Airlines anticipates operating over 17,200 flights and offering more than 2,000,000 seats during the tourist season, demonstrating a robust expansion of its flight network and a commitment to enhancing passenger travel experiences.
