Berlin Gets Two New Southern Escapes
Eurowings is adding two new routes at Berlin Brandenburg Airport in May 2026, with services linking BER with Sarajevo in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Olbia on the Italian island of Sardinia. The additions give Berlin passengers two different summer options in the same schedule: a short cultural break in the Balkans and a coastal holiday near Sardinia’s north-east coast this summer.
Flights to Sarajevo are now available once a week, operating every Saturday. During the summer holiday period, Eurowings will add a second weekly service on Thursdays between 2 July and 27 August. The flight time is around one hour and 55 minutes, placing Bosnia and Herzegovina’s capital within easy reach for a long weekend or a wider Balkan trip.
New Eurowings Routes at BER
The summer schedule includes:
- Sarajevo: Saturdays, plus Thursdays between 2 July and 27 August
- Sarajevo flight time: around 1 hour 55 minutes
- Olbia: Tuesdays and Sundays
- Olbia flight time: around 2 hours 20 minutes
Both routes start in May 2026 and form part of Eurowings’ expanded offer at Berlin Brandenburg Airport for the summer season.
Sarajevo gives visitors access to a compact capital where cultures, religions and different historical periods meet in a small area. The city works for a focused city break and can also serve as a starting point for trips across the Balkan region. Olbia, meanwhile, sits close to Costa Smeralda and offers a base for exploring northern Sardinia at a slower pace.
The useful point is the contrast. Sarajevo is short, cultural and suited to a few full days; Olbia is slower, sunnier and built around beaches, coastal stays and independent exploring in the north of the island. For people using BER, these routes add actual variety to summer planning, not just another version of the same beach timetable, which matters in peak season.
