Berlin Brandenburg Airport has confirmed that no regular passenger flights will operate on Wednesday, 18 March 2026, due to a warning strike organised by the United Services Union ver.di. The action involves employees of Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH (FBB). As a result, normal flight operations at the airport will be suspended for the day, affecting departures and arrivals across the airport’s passenger schedule.

Airport management has already notified airlines, ground handling companies, security providers and other partners about the disruption. The strike action forms part of labour negotiations and is expected to involve staff working across several airport services. With a large share of operational teams taking part, maintaining normal passenger flights on the day will not be possible.

Travellers scheduled to pass through Berlin on 18 March should contact their airline or tour operator. Airlines are responsible for changing bookings and offering other flight options where possible. The airport operator has also advised passengers to check airline websites or customer service pages for the latest information about cancellations and rebooking.

What passengers should know

  • No scheduled passenger flights at Berlin Brandenburg Airport on 18 March 2026
  • Warning strike called by the United Services Union ver.di

Anyone planning to travel through Berlin in the coming days should confirm their flight status before going to the airport. Strike action often brings flight cancellations or sudden timetable changes. Checking with the airline first can save a trip to the airport if the flight has been cancelled.
