Wizz Air Adds Three New Routes from Prishtina

Wizz Air will open a new base at Prishtina International Airport, giving Kosovo three additional direct links and more choice on an existing German route. One Airbus A321neo will be stationed at the airport, allowing the airline to build a larger local schedule rather than relying only on aircraft arriving from other bases. The expansion will make Wizz Air the airport’s largest scheduled carrier.
New Wizz Air Routes from Prishtina
- Airline: Wizz Air
- Base opens: November 2026
- New routes: Prishtina–Brussels Charleroi, Prishtina–Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden and Prishtina–Basel-Mulhouse
- Dortmund frequency: Five flights weekly, up from three
- Seasonality: Not specified by the airline
With an aircraft based in Prishtina, Wizz Air will be able to offer more direct departures and a wider choice of travel dates. The expanded network will cover nine routes in six countries, including existing links to London Luton, Bratislava, Milan Malpensa, Rome Fiumicino, Memmingen and Dortmund. Around 500,000 additional seats will be added each year, giving passengers more options for city breaks, family visits and onward travel across Europe.
The three new routes open up very different short-break options. Brussels Charleroi provides access to the Belgian capital, including the Grand-Place and major museums. Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden is useful for Baden-Baden’s thermal baths and trips into the Black Forest. Basel-Mulhouse serves the border region shared by Switzerland, France and Germany, with Basel’s Old Town, Rhine waterfront and art museums reachable by local transport connections.
Basing an aircraft in Prishtina should make the timetable less dependent on flights arriving from elsewhere, while the added Dortmund departures give passengers more dates to choose from. The main benefit is the spread of destinations, with one new route for Belgium, one for southern Germany and one serving the tri-border Basel region. Travellers should still compare airport transfers, as Charleroi and Basel-Mulhouse are outside their named city centres.
