Munich to Riyadh Connection Restored Ahead of Winter Season

Starting 26 October 2025, Lufthansa will resume nonstop flights linking Munich with Riyadh, reestablishing direct air service between Germany and Saudi Arabia’s capital. Flights on this route will be available three times a week, linking Europe to one of the key cities in the Middle East. The service aims to meet both business and leisure demand, with a schedule that allows convenient onward connections via Munich’s international hub.
Scheduled flights will depart and arrive as follows:
- From Munich to Riyadh - takeoff at 9:45 p.m., landing at 4:50 a.m. local time the next day.
- From Riyadh to Munich - departure at 6:25 a.m., with arrival at 10:25 a.m. local time.
Timed to support same-day connections, this schedule helps cut down waiting periods and facilitates smoother journeys. Operating on this route is the Airbus A350-900, featuring a total of 293 seats spread over three classes.
Travelers arriving in Riyadh in late autumn and early winter will have the chance to experience several seasonal attractions. Riyadh Season, the country’s largest annual festival, features large-scale outdoor installations, cultural performances, and themed entertainment zones. As part of the Formula E Championship, the Al Diriyah E-Prix features an exciting race held under the lights at night. For those wishing to immerse themselves in traditional crafts, spices, and textiles, the Souq Al Zal market provides a genuine and lively environment.
In Munich, passengers departing or connecting can enjoy seasonal highlights before or after their trip. The Munich Christmas Market at Marienplatz brings festive lights, regional delicacies, and traditional crafts to the city center. Known as one of the largest urban green spaces globally, the Englischer Garten is a popular spot for autumn walks through vivid fall landscapes. For culinary enthusiasts, the Viktualienmarkt food market remains a year-round spot for sampling Bavarian specialties and fresh seasonal produce.

This renewed air link strengthens connections between Europe and Saudi Arabia at a time when both leisure and business travel to the region are growing. Travelers benefit from reduced travel durations, smoother access to cultural and sports activities, and increased flexibility in organizing their journeys. Direct flights between Munich and Riyadh are anticipated to become increasingly important as the 2030 World Expo and 2034 FIFA Men’s World Cup approach, helping to meet rising passenger demand for timely journeys.
