Madrid Adds Newark Option for New York Trips
Iberia has launched a new direct flight between Madrid and Newark Liberty International Airport, expanding travel options between Spain and the New York metropolitan area. The service departs Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport at 19:35 and arrives in Newark at 22:25. The route is operated by the Airbus A321XLR, a newer long-haul aircraft that Iberia has recently added to support network growth.
With the Newark service, Iberia now operates three daily flights between Madrid and the New York area, using both JFK and Newark airports. Having two arrival points allows more choice when deciding which airport better suits plans in the city and nearby areas. New York continues to be one of the airline’s key long-distance destinations in North America.
The Airbus A321XLR used on this route has Business and Economy cabins with 182 seats. Iberia has added several aircraft of this type as part of its Flight Plan 2030 programme, which includes opening new long-distance routes and adding more flights on existing ones. The airline is increasing the number of seats available on transatlantic services as demand between Europe and the United States remains strong.
