Jersey Gets a New Birmingham Link

Jet2 will launch a new route between Birmingham Airport and Jersey for summer 2027, adding three weekly services to the Channel Island. Flights will run on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays between 2 May and 10 October 2027. The airline says the route follows demand from customers and independent travel agents for short breaks to Jersey.
The new service will give holidaymakers more choice when planning trips to the largest of the Channel Islands. Jet2 says Jersey will become part of its wider summer 2027 programme from Birmingham, which will cover 65 sun and city destinations, including five new routes. Customers will be able to book flights with Jet2.com or ATOL-protected package holidays through Jet2holidays.
Jersey sits between Britain and France, making it a practical option for an island break without a long journey. The destination is known for its beaches, clear waters and outdoor activities, including hiking, surfing, kayaking and diving. Jet2holidays will offer accommodation in areas including Grouville, St Helier, St Brelade’s Bay, St Peter and St Aubin.
The route should make Jersey easier to reach for people across the Midlands who want a coastal trip with less travel time. St Helier’s harbour, St Aubin’s waterfront, sandy bays, castles, forts, museums and walking routes around the island should become easier to include in a long weekend or a longer summer holiday.
“The growth that Jet2 has announced for 2027 demonstrates the growing confidence airlines have in Jersey. Increased capacity and a longer season delivers greater choice and improved connectivity. It’s a great boost for our tourism industry, making Jersey more accessible to key UK markets and providing more flexibility for Islanders."
For Jersey, the extra Birmingham flights bring more than another line on a departure board. They add capacity during a longer summer season and should help bring more visitors to local hotels, restaurants and attractions. For those planning a break, the appeal is clear: a short flight, three weekly options and an island trip that can fit into a few days off.
