The company has responded by creating a collection of package holidays linked to locations featured in the movie.

The strongest jump has been recorded in Corfu, while the Peloponnese is also attracting more attention through searches for gateways such as Kalamata. Sicily is seeing a similar effect, with Catania and Palermo gaining interest as starting points for trips towards the Aeolian and Egadi islands. easyJet holidays says bookings linked to these Sicilian gateways increased by 8% week on week.
The trend is also drawing attention beyond the best-known Greek resorts. The Peloponnese combines ancient sites such as Mycenae and Epidaurus with long stretches of coastline, while Kefalonia and Zante offer access to the Ionian islands featured around the film’s Mediterranean setting. In Italy, growing searches for Catania and Palermo reflect interest in reaching the Aeolian and Egadi islands, which are linked to the production’s locations.
"We know that pop culture and cinema play a huge role in inspiring where we choose to travel. With set-jetting continuing to trend, it's clear that blockbuster releases like The Odyssey are prompting Brits to seek out their own Mediterranean adventures this summer."
Film tourism is hardly new, but The Odyssey shows how quickly a major release can change travel searches. The useful part for holidaymakers is the wider interest in regions that are often treated as secondary to better-known Mediterranean resorts. Anyone booking because of the film should still check exactly where scenes were shot, as airport gateways and package hotels may be some distance from the actual locations.
