Ruby has opened Ruby Frida in Stockholm, marking the brand’s first hotel in Sweden. The 187-room property sits in Kungsholmen, close to Fridhemsplan, bringing the brand to one of the capital’s well-connected neighbourhoods near metro and bus links. Its design takes cues from Stockholm’s music heritage and the city’s 1960s creative scene, rather than following a standard business-hotel formula in town.

The hotel is set inside a reworked 1960s landmark, now part of a mixed-use building with offices, restaurants and retail. Stockholm Central Station is about 10 minutes away by public transport, while direct airport coaches nearby reach Stockholm Arlanda Airport in roughly 40 minutes. Guests also get social spaces, a 24/7 bar, cocktails, barista coffee and evening music on site.

Key Details Before Booking

Rooms are offered in Cosy, Lovely and Wow categories, with selected balconies and some windowless rooms for quieter stays. Travellers should compare room types before payment because views, daylight and balcony access differ.

  • Rooms: 187 in total
  • Rates: starting at SEK 1,100 per night, breakfast excluded
  • Check-in: 3pm; check-out: 11am
  • Minimum check-in age: 18
  • Booking: Ruby or IHG One Rewards

The location makes several Stockholm stops easier to fit into a short trip. Gamla Stan, waterfront promenades, parks and local cafés are within reach, while Kungsholmen gives visitors a base away from the most crowded sightseeing streets. Music fans also get a local hook: the former Cheiron Studios area, linked to Sweden’s global pop history, sits close to the hotel.

The main gain for visitors is choice in a central district that works for both airport arrivals and city breaks. Ruby Frida is best suited to travellers who want fast transport links, a design-led stay and easy access to neighbourhood cafés. Before booking, compare room types carefully, check whether breakfast is included and decide if a windowless room fits your travel style.
