Sofia Becomes a City-Wide Puzzle: Wizz Air Hosts Interactive Treasure Hunt

To celebrate two decades in Bulgaria, Wizz Air will run an extensive scavenger hunt throughout Sofia on September 19, 2025. Participants can follow a series of clues posted on the airline’s official Instagram account to find four secret locations across the capital. The first person to reach each site and provide the correct password will receive two round-trip tickets to destinations served by the airline, combining navigation and problem-solving.

Since starting flights from Bulgaria in 2005, Wizz Air has carried over 31 million passengers and operates nine aircraft based in Sofia and Varna, maintaining 55 active routes across Europe. The scavenger hunt is part of the anniversary activities planned to engage the public and highlight the airline’s ongoing presence in the Bulgarian market. It also demonstrates the integration of interactive events into broader operational milestones for aviation companies.

Participants in the scavenger hunt will need to explore different parts of Sofia while following structured clues and reaching designated locations at specific times. At each site, they must locate representatives to obtain the correct password phrase. This structured approach helps participants make the most of their time while carefully planning their activities. This activity offers a city-wide challenge, encouraging participants to explore Sofia actively while gaining insight into its urban environment in an interactive and immersive way.
