Ryanair Adds Porto and Brindisi as Klagenfurt Flights Surge
Ryanair is opening two new nonstop routes from Klagenfurt Airport next summer, putting Porto and Brindisi within easy reach of southern Austria. The airline is also increasing its Palma de Mallorca service to daily flights and retaining its London Stansted connection. The expanded schedule gives Carinthia its first direct service to Portugal and more options for reaching the Italian coast without changing planes.
Klagenfurt's Four Ryanair Routes for Summer 2027
- Airline: Ryanair; airport: Klagenfurt (KLU).
- Porto (OPO): From 30 March; Tuesday 11:35, Saturday 10:35; return Tuesday 07:00, Saturday 06:05.
- Brindisi (BDS): From 29 March; Monday 08:30, Thursday 08:25; return Monday 06:20, Thursday 06:15.
- Palma de Mallorca (PMI): Daily flights.
- London Stansted (STN): Wednesday, Friday, Sunday.
- Season: Summer 2027, ending October.
- Total: 14 departures weekly; 160,000-plus seats.
- Times: Local; subject to change.
Tickets for the new services are already available through Ryanair, although the airline has not announced a starting fare. Klagenfurt Airport is served by city bus 4, which runs to the main railway station, and the S1 train stops at Annabichl, around seven minutes’ walk from the terminal. That gives passengers arriving from elsewhere in Carinthia a public-transport option, provided the connection suits their flight.
The Porto service opens a direct route to the city’s Ribeira waterfront and Douro Valley; Metro Line E links Porto Airport with the city. Brindisi offers a gateway to southern Puglia, including Lecce’s baroque centre, Ostuni and the Salento beaches. The AP shuttle connects Brindisi Airport with the city centre, where rail services provide onward connections around the region without hiring a car.
The early Porto returns, especially Saturday's 06:05 departure, are poorly matched to the airport metro’s morning start. Travellers may need a taxi or pre-booked transfer, while the early Brindisi departures also favour staying close to the airport on the final night. With both new routes running just twice weekly, check the return date before committing to accommodation; Ryanair charges extra for larger cabin bags.
