Margaritaville Utilizes Power Knot Ocean Biodigesters on Its Cruise Ships

Several LFC biodigesters from Power Knot Ocean have been installed on the Margaritaville at Sea Islander cruise ship. This event took place on the Spirit-class vessel as part of a recent partnership.

LFC biodigesters are devices for disposing of food waste that use aerobic decomposition to convert waste into water. This solution eliminates the need for traditional disposal methods and reduces the environmental impact of the ship's operations. The biodigesters are strategically placed in key areas of the ship, such as the kitchen and garbage rooms, to optimize waste management.

LFC biodigesters come in nine different sizes, ranging from 10 kg to 6000 kg of food waste per day. Their installation on the Margaritaville at Sea Islander is an important step in reducing the ship's environmental footprint and promoting sustainable development in the maritime industry.

Power Knot President, Iain Milnes, noted that the installation of LFC biodigesters on the Margaritaville at Sea Islander helps to reduce the volume of waste that would otherwise end up in landfills or at sea. It also contributes to lowering operational costs and ensures more sustainable cruise ship operations.
