NH Collection Palermo Palazzo Sitano Opens in Historic City Center

In July 2025, NH Collection Palermo Palazzo Sitano began welcoming guests as the second Italian hotel the brand launched that year, after the earlier opening of NH Collection Alagna Mirtillo Rosso in the Pennine Alps. Located in Palermo’s old town on Via Vittorio Emanuele, it is surrounded by narrow lanes, busy markets, and historic city squares. The addition gives travelers another central place to stay while visiting Sicily’s capital.
The palazzo housing the hotel dates back to the 18th and 19th centuries and originally consisted of aristocratic residences. It has been redesigned into 86 guest rooms while still keeping its old touches like iron balconies, painted ceilings, and graceful archways that hint at its past. Staying here means guests can easily step outside and reach Palermo’s busiest streets and well-known sights on foot, making city exploration simple and hassle-free.

A short walk from the hotel leads to the Vucciria market, a bustling corner of the city where tiny stalls offer classic Sicilian bites well into the evening hours. A few minutes’ walk brings you to Quattro Canti, a centuries-old Baroque intersection where four decorated building fronts face each other, creating one of Palermo’s most recognizable city views. These two spots give a real feel for everyday life in Palermo and can be reached from the hotel with only a short walk.
Another two interesting spots within a few minutes’ walk are Piazza Marina and the Cala port. Piazza Marina is a wide city square covered by the shade of giant old ficus trees, where weekend antique fairs often take place. Cala, a small harbor with fishing boats and outdoor cafes, offers a scenic place to relax by the water and watch daily activity in Palermo’s port area. These nearby spots let visitors soak up Palermo’s open-air vibe and the relaxed feel of the seaside.

The arrival of NH Collection Palermo Palazzo Sitano adds more places to stay right in Palermo’s historic center. Being so close to markets, public squares, and the harbor allows visitors to take in Palermo’s lively mood, sample local food, and wander its historic streets without having to use much transport during their trip. The addition of this property also helps meet growing demand for accommodation in the old town, giving travelers another practical choice during busy holiday periods.
