London’s Biggest Harry Potter Shop Opens With a Knight Bus Inside
A three-decker purple bus inside an Oxford Street shop is not an everyday sight. From 4 November, visitors to London can find one at the UK’s largest official Harry Potter store, opening across two floors at The Ribbon. Designed around Diagon Alley, the new flagship combines film-inspired displays, exclusive gifts and a Butterbeer counter, adding another stop to the capital’s Harry Potter trail.
Inside, a Ukrainian Ironbelly dragon towers above the Gringotts area, while an Ollivanders display features replica wands. The Leaky Cauldron serves classic, hot and frozen Butterbeer alongside ice cream. Exclusive items include a Diagon Alley wand, a Harry Potter Funko Pop! and MinaLima artwork. Fans can also buy a Gringotts cheque book for a stamping trail that continues at the King’s Cross shop.

Oxford Street’s Harry Potter-themed Christmas lights are scheduled to illuminate the road on 9 November, five days after the shop opens. Nearby Regent Street switches on its festive display on 5 November, with a traffic-free celebration between 17:00 and 21:00. Both displays are free to see, so the dates matter to visitors hoping to combine the shop with an evening walk through the West End.
Anyone booking the Hogwarts Bear Ceremony should arrive five minutes before their allotted time, as late arrivals risk losing their place. Children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and bookings can be cancelled free of charge. Walk-ins are accepted only at staff discretion. Unlike the separately ticketed Warner Bros. Studio Tour, the Oxford Street shop is primarily a retail visit.
