IHG Hotels & Resorts has opened its first Vignette Collection property in Italy, bringing The Venice Times Hotel into the group’s luxury portfolio. The 30-room hotel sits in Cannaregio, close to Venice Santa Lucia station, the Grand Canal and Ca’ d’Oro. The opening follows a rebrand carried out with Pacini Group and adds another centrally located option for visitors who prefer a smaller property.

The hotel has been designed around Venetian art, printing and local craftsmanship rather than a standard chain format. Its Manuzio Lounge serves cocktails and cicchetti beside a private garden, while a movable-type kit lets guests create postcards inspired by Renaissance printer Aldo Manuzio. Experiences also include mask-making sessions and photography tours with local creatives, while IHG One Rewards members can book through the group’s usual channels.

Its location makes short stays easier to organise, particularly for visitors arriving by train with luggage. Guests can walk to the hotel rather than crossing Venice by boat, then use nearby vaporetto services to reach other districts. The Grand Canal, Ca’ d’Oro and Venice Casino are close by, while Rialto Bridge and Teatro La Fenice remain within a manageable walk.

With just 30 rooms, The Venice Times offers IHG One Rewards members a more intimate place to stay while still allowing them to earn and redeem points. Its small size may suit guests who prefer independent-style hotels, although rooms could sell out quickly during festivals and busy weekends. Despite joining a global brand, the property keeps its distinct Venetian character.
