EgyptAir Sets Flexible Rules After Regional Airspace Closures
EgyptAir changed its ticket rules after airspace closures in parts of the Middle East. The disruption started on 28 February 2026. Some flights were affected, and a number of routes were paused or adjusted. New conditions now apply to cancelled services, covering travel disrupted between 28 February and 20 April. Separate dates have been set for routes involving Kuwait.
For individual bookings, passengers on cancelled flights can rebook on EgyptAir services to the same destination or to another city in the Middle East or Gulf region. Travel must take place by 20 May 2026. Refunds are available without fees, and tickets can also be converted into an EMD for future use through the airline’s offices or call centre.
Passengers may also choose to change their route to destinations outside the Middle East or Gulf. In such cases, no penalties are applied, although any fare difference must be paid. For group bookings, deposits or issued tickets linked to cancelled flights can be transferred to future travel, whether domestic or international. Standard fare rules remain in place for flights that continue to operate.
