Birmingham Gets a Three-Hour Escape to Tunisia
Jet2 is adding Tunisia to its Birmingham Airport programme for summer 2027, bringing back a North African option for local holidaymakers and travel agents. The airline and tour operator says the move follows demand in the region, with both flight-only bookings and package holidays available. The new service adds another Mediterranean beach and culture destination to Birmingham’s growing summer network.

The Tunisia service gives Birmingham passengers direct access to the country’s beach resorts and historic towns, with flights available as standalone bookings through Jet2 website. Through Jet2holidays, customers can also book three- to five-star hotels in Port el Kantaoui, Skanes, Mahdia, Sousse, Yasmine Hammamet and Hammamet. The launch sits within Jet2’s wider summer 2027 expansion at Birmingham, alongside Bergerac, Hurghada, Jersey, Kavala and Sharm el Sheikh.
The route makes Tunisia’s beach resorts and historic towns easier to reach for people across the Midlands. Hammamet and Sousse suit travellers looking for medinas, markets and coastal hotels, while Mahdia and Port el Kantaoui add more resort options. Longer trips can also put Roman sites, the Sahara Desert and blue-and-white Sidi Bou Said within easier holiday planning range.
The Midlands gains a useful extra option for summer 2027: a North African beach break without changing airports. Tunisia will not suit every trip, but it gives Birmingham passengers a different mix of resort hotels, old towns and desert excursions within a short-haul flying window. Booking early leaves time to compare hotel ratings, luggage terms and flight-only fares before prices move.
