Starting May 1, 2025, Air France will begin offering CANAL+ content across all of its long-haul flights. The announcement was made during the CANNESERIES festival, where the airline introduced the new addition to its onboard entertainment system. At launch, passengers will have access to approximately 100 titles, including French drama series such as Versailles, The Embers, and Of Money and Blood, along with comedy programs, documentaries, and children’s shows.

From June, the offering will expand to include content from CANAL+ Africa. This will feature regionally produced series such as Niabla and the documentary series Enquête d’Afrique. To keep the selection up to date, twenty new programs will be added each month. All titles will be available in French with subtitles and adapted for passengers who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Air France currently offers more than 1,500 hours of content on board, ranging from films and music to podcasts and destination guides. The addition of CANAL+ is intended to broaden the cultural variety of in-flight entertainment. The airline’s long-haul aircraft are equipped with 4K anti-glare screens, Bluetooth audio compatibility, and a multilingual interface available in twelve languages.

The announcement was part of a broader presence at CANNESERIES, where both partners are official sponsors. At the festival, Air France invited attendees to try out its in-flight system and explore the upcoming content firsthand. It is expected that Air France would add a number of festival-featured performances to its in-flight repertoire in the coming months.

We are delighted with this unique partnership, which will enable Air France passengers to enjoy an exclusive entertainment experience on board its long-haul flights. We are particularly honoured that Air France has chosen CANAL+ to create its first and only dedicated media space, reinforcing our commitment to promoting French, and soon African, audiovisual creation throughout the world.
Christophe Pinard-Legry, CEO of CANAL+ France in charge of Business activities

The partnership aligns with Air France’s existing commitment to French-language media, which currently accounts for 30% of its entertainment catalogue. By adding CANAL+ programming, the airline aims to give passengers a more diverse viewing experience that reflects a wider range of cultural perspectives.
