Lisbon Gains New Direct Link to Athens
TAP Air Portugal will introduce a non-stop service between Lisbon and Athens on 1 July, offering five weekly flights linking the two capitals. The airline confirmed that the summer schedule will use Airbus A320neo aircraft before switching to Embraer E190 jets during the winter season. The timings create an overnight sector eastbound and an early-morning return westbound, fitting neatly around existing European connections.

One-way fares start at €119 including taxes when booked via TAP’s website or travel agents.
Beyond the city itself, the flight makes well-known Greek destinations more reachable for summer holidaymakers. Day trips to Delphi and Meteora are widely available, while nearby islands such as Hydra, Aegina and Poros offer beaches, harbour towns and quieter breaks. Seasonal ferry networks give visitors an easy jump-off point for wider island-hopping, while Athens International Airport connects to Crete, Rhodes and the Cyclades for longer itineraries.
This launch adds another southern European capital to Lisbon’s direct map and gives travellers more choice during peak months. Portugal–Greece journeys often require transfers, so a non-stop option removes uncertainty around tight connections and late arrivals.
